Lunch at Aliotos in SFO yesterday

We had a crab sandwich and a crab salad up in San Francisco yesterday.
David ate their famous chowder and we enjoyed the view while we ate.
It was so clear that day, it was unbelievable!

No better place for a nap, than snuggled up on Grandma's chest inside her coat

Well, Jonathan was fussy. So we took him down to the beach and let him play. Then we walked awhile with him in my coat. He was out like a light, once his head hit my chest, and his ear was on my heartbeat.

I'll get you Red Barron

The desire to fly,  runs in the family.

New ear decor

Stephen had draped his I'd dog tag over his ear. For a minute there I thought he had an earring on!

My birthday cake minus a few pieces

I split one of those giant Costco cakes with Trudy as it was her birthday the week before.
This chocolate cake is absolutely delicious but very rich. So a small slice is quite filling.
Little did I know that Daniel had been snitching some of it before we celebrated.

Ice cream social

I love linger longers after church. So  there was an ice cream social! The kids loved it and asked if they do it ever Sunday. I told them no. Stephen was visibly disappointed and said " Well if they did, I would come back to this church every Sunday"

Pizza hut in Winnemucca

We stopped for dinner at Pizza Hut.
I can't even remember the last time we did that. Where we went to an actual restaurant for pizza!.

The result

Note the baby on board
his favorite place to take a nap when his mommy needs to leave him with me

Exploding breakfast..

Well I wanted to use my new shaker/mixer cup with stainless steel ball. We couldn't find the directions so I thought I'd just go ahead and try pancake mix in it. Needless to say when I opened it up to pour out the pancake batter this is what happened!

Later we found the directions and it warned against using it to mix pancake batter as it has baking soda that gets powerful when it is shaken up.. so next time I used my Tupperware knowledge and burped it several times before I finished the final product.

Boogie boarding is also a traditional past time at the beach.

Matthew is new to boogy boarding this year. He was rather reserved about the whole thing.
He thinks the waves are tyring to call him. He got knocked off his board at one point, and swallowed some sea water.. He wasn't too happy with us after that.

Asian sand bugs a new variety

Well this is the end result.. they wanted to have us bury them standing up in their sand holes.
Clear up to their necks and have us film them, as they wiggle to escape!

Ultimate in laziness

I walked into my good friend's living room this last winter, and saw this. I cracked up because she told me her husband was too busy or tired. He couldn't be bothered with cutting this log to the right length for the fire place!

We interrupt this blogging program for a slight intermission from November Disney on Ice

It was so fun to see Carly's  face , our daughter's little friend who went with us. Kimberly heard about the discounted tickets  and told us.. it was a great opportunity! Kids loved it, I kept thinking about how Chunlan would have loved it too..

Beach Music

Music is an integral part of our family. Today we had Sam playing his Viola downstairs and Lynn and Nate alternating between Broadway music on their computers and light rock/jazz. Add to that the baby sounds of Jonathan's and lulling sound of the beach wave sounds. We had quite a symphony.

Fw: Grass valley

Our kids school director asked us to wave to Grass valley for her. So we did.
